Today was an average Friday. The air conditioner is broken at work, so it's 87 degrees outside and 88 degrees inside, due to the greenhouse effect. Of course, my office is next the the windows that get the afternoon sun, so by 3:00 PM, the sun is shining directly on the back of my head, or in my face depending on which computer I'm using. Of course I don't mind getting a suntan indoors, but I prefer being near a pool with a Margarita in hand while I'm doing it. Fortunately, I got most of my work done by 4 and left with a smile on my face, before it got unbearable.
It's not like nobody cares. The company bought a portable air conditioner to keep us cool, but if the full size unit can't keep up with the heat, how well do you think a tiny portable is going to work, hmmm? Yep, not much help.
So I have about 6 projects I'm currently working on and 8 more coming fast right behind them. The end of the year when it's time to celebrate holidays, spend time with family and friends, that's right when we are at our busiest, trying to squeeze every last million $ into this years revenue. Hopefully, it will all pay off when (if?) I get my bonus in December. We shall see....
